Targess & Lilwhitelotus - A Shiva Wedding

On the 25th November 2006, Targess took Lilwhitelotus to one of their favourite retreats, the Temple in Upper Jeuno, where after a long day of running around, he asked her to be his wife. Madrik graciously accepted to be their chaperone, and three months later we were all standing out the front of Morhen Lighthouse awaiting the big moment!

Weddings are really stressful in Vana'diel. There's lots of rules to follow and you have to have a great chaperone at your side. We first want to extend a HUGE THANKS to Madrik for keeping it together when Lotus's solution was just to yell at the Linkshell >.> Also thanks to Jana for her support and trying to help out keeping order. (It also doesn't hurt to have a great man whispering in your ear to relax, when you start to freak out - thanks hon ^^)

Everyone is brought up to the Lighthouse

So the time comes, we had a couple of late arrivals, but we were lucky the Wedding Master waited as long as she did. Even still we couldn't wait for one tardy taru >< (sorry Drak). Finally everyone was brought up to the top of the Lighthouse.

(If I forgot anyone please let me know, so much was going on I'm not sure who showed up and who didn't in the end... ><)

The Ceremony

Introductions

For Targess:

This venerable White Mage serves in Bastok's forces as a Gold Musketeer. He enjoys taking part in the adventuring group "ForeverFriendz", as well as practicing the culinary arts, dabbling in the traditional Bastokan trade of smithing and taking the occasional fishing trip! His motto is, "Seek happiness above all else!" Ladies and gentlemen, let's have a big hand for the groom, Targess!

For Lilwhitelotus:

This beloved Paladin is also one of Bastok's Gold Musketeers. She is proud to be the founder of the linkshell, "ForeverFriendz", and she also enjoys cooking with Targess, but she also hears the call of the sea, occasionally chartering the Selbina ship to catch some fish and slay some pirates! Her motto is, "Pursue paths of promise!" Let's have a warm round of applause for the bride, Lilwhitelotus!

Letter from the President

"I have been informed that today, two of our fine citizens have gathered to join together as one. This union is of much importance to the future of the Republic, if not the future of Vana'diel, and I am honored to give my consent. Heated mythril is soft; its shape easily changed. However, as it cools, mythril becomes hard and strong. My wish is for this couple to forge their bond while it is still in the flames of passion and ultimately render it stronger than the most magnificent of metals. Targess, ever be faithful to your new wife. And Lilwhitelotus, ever be faithful to your new husband." -- President of the Republic of Bastok, Hrichter Karst.

The Vows

Said one at a time, the vows were read in the basic but efficient way (notice they leave out the "for richer or poorer" >.>).

"In adidance with the laws of the Republic, we take each other, to be lawfully wedded husband and wife, to have and told hold, in sickness and in health, 'til death do us part."

Exchange of the Rings

Those rings were forged by Fatimah, the finest goldsmith in Bastok. At a glance, they resemble nothing more than ordinary ornaments. However, do not be fooled by appearances. Within the twin rings lies a great power. Do you understand what power I am speaking of? (Bride and Groom nod) Excellent. As long as there is love in your hearts, may these tokens protect you always. Now, I would like to make a toast to the bright future that lies before our couple. To the newlyweds!

Ending of the Ceremony

Congratulations! With those present here bearing witness, and by the power vested in me by the Republic of Bastok, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You are all now officially permitted to eat, drink, sing, and have a joyous night!
